Schaumburg, IL, USA  — Guy Kawasaki, Silicon Valley-based author, speaker, entrepreneur, and evangelist, will deliver the opening keynote to ISACA’s North America CACS Conference for information systems audit, assurance, control, governance and security professionals, taking place 13-15 May 2019 in Anaheim, California.

In his presentation, “The Art of Innovation,” Kawasaki will focus on how to create innovative services and products using tactical and practical techniques, using examples as diverse as ice making and digital photography to expose the truths of innovation. Key principles include: jumping to the next curve, breaking down the barriers, and thinking digitally and acting analogically. His keynote presentation will inspire attendees to increase their ability to be agile and innovative.

Closing the conference will be Sekou Andrews, Poetic Voice and CEO of SekouWorld, Inc. A former schoolteacher, this two-time national poetry slam champion is a self-described “Poetic Voice”: a speaker and artist who seamlessly blends the value of a business keynote with the inspiration of a powerful spoken-word poetry performance. In Andrews’ closing keynote, “D.i.Y. Disruption,” he will teach attendees that as their enterprises pursue the “big I” of Innovation through adopting technologies, they should see through the “little i” perspective of an innovator by disrupting themselves from within.

IT audit, risk, cybersecurity and governance professionals will gather at the Anaheim Convention Center to examine the transformational roles they play in their organizations. Attendees will learn solutions and strategies, including how assurance, risk, governance and security professionals can advance their careers and impact their enterprises.

Attendees of North America CACS can earn up to 39 continuing professional education (CPE) hours. This year’s event offers more than 100 sessions in tracks covering:

  • Big Data, data analytics and visualization
  • IT operations for auditors
  • Risk management
  • Security/cybersecurity
  • IS audit and assurance
  • IT leadership: career and communications development
  • Governance and compliance
  • Industry trends and insights

Attendees also can participate in pre- and post-conference hands-on workshops on topics such as COBIT 2019, cybersecurity fundamentals and cybersecurity for auditors, preparing for the CISA certification, developing and implementing a risk management process, PCI data security standards, and more.

As ISACA celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019 and returns to Southern California, where its first chapter was formed, North America CACS will feature special programming related to the evolution of technology and the profession over the last five decades.
